The question setters (Harrington Academicals and Park Taverners) were asked to provide three question masters each. The Weaver and the Waters Green Lemmings were asked to provide one question master each. This meant (hopefully) that eight question masters were available for the eight Cup and Plate quarter–finals.

Semi–Finals: 20 February 2018

The question setters (Chester Road Tavern and Church House Bollington) were asked to provide two question masters each for the four Cup and Plate semi–finals.

Final: 17 April 2018

The Cup Final was held at the Weaver, Thornton Square, on Tuesday 17 April. The questions were co–ordinated by the Ox–fford from those provided by all teams.

Dolphin

The Ox–fford 'C' won the toss and elected to answer first. Unfortunately for those hoping for a close game, in the first eight questions the Dolphin opened up a five–point lead (9–4), and at the end of the first round they led by 22 points to 14. By half–time they'd stretched their lead to 15 points: 63–48. The fourth round was tied (19–19), and the Ox–fford 'C' won the fifth by 19 points to 14, cutting the Dolphin's lead to ten points. The final round was another tie (also 19–19), so the Dolphin won by ten points.

Only five questions were not answered by either team: they were numbers 7, 60, 81, 92 and 94. Three of these went to the Dolphin and two to the Ox–fford 'C'. The Dolphin scored seven on pass–overs, and the Ox–fford 'C' three; so all in all it was a thoroughly deserved victory for the Dolphin.

The Cup Final was followed by the presentation of all the season's prizes.
