The Most Popular Day for Bank Robberies

Once again we are in guesswork territory here.

This was reported in 2011. According to WiseGeek, it's because the robbers believe that the banks will have lots of cash because people have just got paid.

WiseGeek also reported however that in 2010, 20% of bank robberies occurred on a Friday.

Errmmm ... aren't most banks closed over the weekend? This must mean that 20% of bank robberies take place on every weekday; in other words, no weekday is more popular than any other.

(Someone has already beaten me to this point with a comment on the web page.)

If robberies were spread over all seven days, that would be 14% each. So even on this premise, Fridays aren't that much more popular than any other day.

There have been a few dodgy questions in this set, but this is probably the one I have most issues with.
