There were ten games again this week, as all the B League teams played.
There were some high scores, which is as much to the credit of the question setters as to that of the contestants – take a bow, the Sutton Club. The highest score of all was an eye–catching 194 by the Ox–fford; this was in fact the highest score in the League for almost two years. On 5 January 2016 – in Week 8 of the 2015–16 season – the Waters Green Rams were beaten by 196 points to 138, by ... the Ox–fford.
The most noteworthy result this week was perhaps the Cock Inn's victory over the Sutton Mutton, which was their first of the season.
There were no really close games – the closest being in the B League where the Nags Head beat the Robin Hood by six points.
In the A League, the only real change was that the Church House Bollington moved into third place with their victory over the British Flag. The Weaver also moved above the Wharfies, who didn't play, on goal difference (from fifth to fourth).
Similarly in the B League, the Waters Green Rams moved into second place with victory over the Harrington 'B', and are now level on points with the Nags Head with a game in hand.
In the C League, the Cock Inn moved off the bottom of the table with their first win of the season. The Sutton Club remain in first place despite not playing this week.
The highest individual score of the week came in the C League, and it was the 51 achieved by Shauna Barstow of the Park Taverners. Sitting in Seat No. 1 in the Specialist questions, the three that Shauna got wrong were the ones about the city with two cathedrals, the man in ITMA and the litter of pigs. This was a great effort, and may well be Shauna's all–time personal best!
Shauna's score took her to the top of the C League individual table, with Andy Ridgway not playing this week. Jackie Hulme also moved past Andy into second place, with her personal best score of the season so far.
In the A League, Brian Bogie remains on top of the table despite not playing this week – but Ashton Davies is now only one question behind him.
In the B League, Alasdair Reid and Dave Partington each scored 42, so Alasdair remains just one question ahead of Dave in first place.
There were a total of 23 personal bests this week (too many to list really – they're all mentioned below!), and twelve scores of 42 or over.

It was very much a game of two halves for the Sutton Club's questions. The General Knowledge questions scored well all round, being the easiest of the season so far (in the General Knowledge) and almost perfectly balanced. Unfortunately for the setters, their scores were just not high enough to displace the British Flag (Specialists) from the top of the table; these scored similarly for Difficulty and Balance, but rather better for Entertainment.
The Specialist questions scored less well. They were slightly easier than average, but there was a marked bias towards the teams that went second.
Overall, there was a slight bias towards the teams that went second in the Specialist questions, who scored on average 109% of their average scores as opposed to 104% for the teams that went first first.
Of the ten games, four were won by the teams going "first first" and six went the other way. The teams that won by going "first first" were the Ox–fford 'C', Waters Green Rams, Harrington Academicals and Park Taverners.
