Jambalaya

According to Wikipedia, jambalaya differs from gumbo in that the rice is cooked with the stew, whereas in gumbo the rice is cooked separately. Also, gumbo includes okra and filé powder (a spicy herb made from the dried and ground leaves of the North American sassafras tree).

Wikipedia does contradict itself somewhat however, as it lists okra as one of the ingredients of jambalaya. It also tells us that gumbo "derived its name from Africa meaning okra, which may have derived the name from a source such as the Choctaw word for filé (kombo)."

If anyone understands what this is supposed to mean, may I suggest you go and edit Wikipedia so that it makes some sort of sense?
